Maria Menounos

Maria helped her mother with stage four brain cancer. It was discovered that she was suffering from the middle of a health crisis. In February 2014 Menounos started experiencing troubling symptoms. In the cover story of PEOPLE Menounos, she reveals she had been experiencing headaches and lightheadedness when she was on sets. "My speech became slurred. Also, I had difficulty reading the Teleprompter." Menounos has been identified as suffering from a large meningioma brain tumor. A MRI confirmed this. Menounos scheduled an appointment to see her mother's doctor renowned neurosurgeon Dr. Keith L. Black The surgery was scheduled for June 8-her 39th birthday. He said that it was 98 percent benign. The only thing is that we will not be able to know until they get there. Dr. Black managed to eliminate 99.9% of benign tumors in a complex operation that took seven hours. "He stated that there's an eight to seven percent possibility that it will return," she says. "But I'll take those odds any day." Menounos is home after an extended stay of six days in the hospital. She's currently recovering and spending moments with Litsa, her mother. Litsa's latest MRI confirms she's unaffected by cancer. Maria Maria Maria
